personal profile
 Confidence, traveling, challenging myself, meeting new friends, and communicating with others is how I would describe myself. I was born in a loving and perfect family. My parents made me have lots of hobbies and interested in many things. Because I am the oldest girl in my family, I take care of my sister and brother. When I was in elementary school, I was in art class. I loved art since I was a little girl. I won many prizes in  art competitions. My parents believed language was very important for the future. So, they made me learn English when I was five years old. I love English and anything about English. My teacher invited us to participate in the Reader Theater and we placed first! In junior school,  I played trumpet and was involved with the marching band. Our marching band won a lot of prizes. We even traveled to Malaysia and placed first in the Marching Band competition. That was a great challenge for me because practicing marching band under the big sun is pretty tired and exhausting. I actively strive for the opportunity to represent the school and stand out among the many talents in the school. My school sent me on behalf of Chinese language competition of the reading project and placed first  in my town. After that, my school would usually ask me  to become a host of school’s ceremony or  representative. With my parents support I bravely enrolled in study abroad tour to the United Kingdom and Ireland. I was so lucky to be part of this study abroad tour. What is special about this study abroad tour is that our students represent Taiwan to communicate with the Irish students. We also  visited the Ambassador of Ireland, he told us how he became an ambassador and lots of stories about living in England. That made me love the European countries much more. Then I enrolled  in  Wenzao, a school that teaches many languages and I really want to be in the school. I started to practice more English and started to learn French. In the first summer at Wenzao I went to America to visit my friends. I went to Chicago with my sister and my best friend. Three of us used our English to communicate with Americans and lived in our friend’s house in Chicago about one month. During this vacation I could gradually talk to foreigners more fluently and actively chat with them about myself or where I lived. I knew the importance of English in the world, I needed to study hard to practice my spoken language. Next winter vacation, I was so lucky that I could  go to my favorite country France with Wenzao’s study abroad tour. I met my home stay at Bourges, a pretty city in the middle of France. This study abroad tour allowed me to know about the beauty of France and made me want to come back again to learn more about all the interesting things of French culture and see all the perfect view that I could never see in Taiwan. During the two weeks I lived in France, I communicated with my buddy and my homestay family in English and French. I knew that my French listening and reading needed more practice . So, I decided to go to France to exchange. I want to improve my French listening and speaking skills s so I could know more about this beautiful country.
study process
 I began studying English when I was a little girl. I have lots of interest in learning new languages. I was determined to study abroad to increase my knowledge and strengthen my ability and see the outside world. My father told me I should try my best to find who I am  and what I really want. My dream is to travel the world by myself but I know it is really difficult So I tried my best to participate in many activities and competitions when I was in elementary  and junior school, and study hard to prepare my future. When I joined Wenzao I knew that I wanted to be an exchange student, I actively participated in class affairs and became the leader of several activities. Or joined a variety of societies or volunteer activities and even joined the student council, I have learned many things such as ahow to prepare a big activity. I joined the supports volunteer group to help the poor country kids and taught them English. I also joined our school’s new life camp to lead Wenzao’s new students to know everything about Wenzao, and I  joined twice. This time I am  part of the leader group, I will guide our member to let the 53 student new life camp be much better than before. I also volunteered to register for various volunteer activities, whether on campus or off campus or even internationally. I joined an English camp led by an American teacher.  They could not speak Chinese, so our job was to help these teachers to translate their words to the children. I learned that being a translator is a very difficult job, but the teacher all commended me and said I  did a great job. The second year in Wenzao, I joined an international volunteer group that traveled to Cambodia. We brought lots of stuffs to give the inhabitants or helped them make their home. When I saw the pictures in Cambodia, people had no clothes to wear or have no place to live and no food to eat. I knew that I was so blessed to have a happy home and many special experiences. These volunteering experiences are valuable and I learned a lot from it and let myself increase my international outlook. I learned that the happiness of helping others, I also feel that I am able to rely on my own strength to change something and strive to break through and make myself grow. Being anexchange student has always been on my dream and the goal that I want to challenge. I want to write the best page for myself in the life of Wenzao.
goals
 I believe the most important thing about learning a new language is to be able to communicate with other people. I have been studying hard at English, so English is not a huge challenge for me. The second language I studied is French, I study French in Wenzao for three years and passed the French language test A2. However, it’s not enough. Practicing my French listening, speaking, and reading  can make me more versatile in French. I believe if I traveled to France to exchange and being in a French-speaking environment, I can improve, take the initiative to learn French, and strengthen my listening skills and practice speaking. I want to uphold the momentum and courage of learning English, and actively communicate with the French people to make new friends and get to know France. After I return to Wenzao, my French will not only be stronger in grammar, but listening, speaking, and writing as well. Make a mastery of my four and five-grade French course, and all courses are well behaved. Try my best to find mine infinite possibilities.
future
 After various experiences in Wenzao, I learned all kinds of different abilities beside studying. I've also established my goals and plans . After my exchange is over, I will begin preparing for the second skill examination to win the school to go to France as a Chinese teaching assistant or go abroad to challenge myself and enrich my experience. I’m also very interested in art and design and fond of painting. I learned French more than others and it’s a very good start for me. France has a place in the world for art designs. For this reason, I will try my best to move towards the French foreign design company. I want to be able to apply myself to the advantages of French and the experience of Wenzao, working towards my goals. In the future, I will become a Wenzao alumni, and continue to work towards my goal. To be a Wenzao exchange student is an honor because it is a laborious and glorious experience. I wish I could be what I really want to be, and that my parents would be proud of me. To be a successful and better person back to repay my parents for raising me, and to rely on their ability to take them to see out of the vast world.

計畫摘要 Project Summary
Understand and reflect on my own weaknesses, and seek teachers or friends for help and advice when needed. Having the motivation to ask and solve problems is the key element to improvement. Not having fear to make mistakes and learning through mistakes and process are also great ways to improve myself. As people say, if you want to learn how to swim, then you should drown first; learning a language is the same concept; going to a foreign country, adapting to their way of living. Currently, I’m in the state where I need to push my limits, know what I lack and how to improve my proficiency in French, and find a way to study that best suits me. Before exchanging, I need to analyze and know what and how the country and the school I’m going to is like. The culture and prestige of the country and school is also a big part of my consideration. While I’m there, I would like to introduce my country to the people that I meet, sharing with them famous Taiwanese confectionery and delicacies that best represents our country. That way, not only is it easier to greet and start an friendship with someone, it’s also an efficient way to exchange cultural knowledge and spread the beauty of Taiwan. On my studies, I will make plans and strategies on my academic studies prior exchange student; understand the lessons and courses that the exchange school provides. Knowing that It will be a completely different lifestyle when I am there, I am prepared for what needs to be faced, for the best way to learn something is throwing yourself into the circumstance and situation.
Aside from the studies, I will find a balance to keep my live interesting at the same time; travel and enjoy my exchange life and keeping up with my academic requirements. I will become a better person and return to share my colorful exchange experience.

Preparation before going to a foreign school / Planning for study in a foreign school (field/course)
 
Preparation for studying abroad is undoubtedly necessary. I think the most important element is the skill is to improvise and have a tactical plan about my exchange life. Search and be prepared for the problems that I might come across so I won’t be helpless when I face certain difficulties. I will also need to know the local environment, weather, basic life conveniences, and learn to be independent so I can look after myself.
Having experienced living abroad, I believe that I can adjust to a new environment, new lifestyle very easily and smoothly. Being an exchange student and living abroad means I won’t have anyone to rely on anymore. If any problems occur, I will need to fix it by myself as soon as possible.
To me, one semester might be a little too short, but if I follow my plan, I believe that I can make the most out of my time and learn from every perspective. Briefly saying, I divided my plan into three terms (stages): short, middle, and long, and I will work hard to complete them one by one.
1.    Short-term is improving my French proficiency and keeping up with all my academic studies. Keeping my studies up to check keeps me reminded that I came from Wenzao, and it is my duty to do well academically and carry out the impression that students from Wenzao are well behaved and talented.
2.    Middle-term would be studying outside of school, for example: extra-curricular studies. Being enthusiastic in making friends, and learning their cultural uniqueness, behavior by interacting with them. By doing so, I can blend in with them and experience a life that I have never lived in France.
3.    Long term plan will be observing and learning the difference in culture between Taiwan and France. Foreign way of educating, local students’ way of receiving education, and even up to the different ways of thinking can be taken to practice and discussion. Learning from our differentiations, we can take out the good parts, and share and practice it with people in Taiwan, or put it into use in the future.
I plan on visiting different museums or scenic sites whilst in France to understand people’s perspective in arts and crafts. By doing so, not only will it build up my interest in art, it will also increase and strengthen my taste and creativity. During holidays or weekends, I plan to travel different countries in Europe, I hope to gain knowledge, widen my international relations, make friends from all over the world, and share with them the beauty of my own country.
 
 
返國後計畫 Plan after returning home
 
After returning to Taiwan, I will use everything that I have learned during my exchange student period to contemplate and plan my future. Because my plan after graduation is to continue my studies at a 2-year bachelor course, I will start preparing for a 2-year college enrollment test, and do my best to improve my language proficiency so I can be competitive with others. Meanwhile, I will develop and build my interests upon other skills and abilities as it can support my personal portfolio and life experience, as well as finding a job. Not only is it about reaching my goals and fulfilling my dreams, I would like to share the things that I had learned to help my teacher and fellow classmates.
 
未來期許 Future expectations
 If I were to achieve my goal being an exchange student and going to the school of my desire, I would be very grateful and do my best to learn. Being a exchange student is a rich and elaborate chance, but it is only a stage in my life, the wise ideology would be using what I’ve learned to make my future arrangements.
I will look forward into more internships and exchange student chances to prepare myself for society, to understand and decide on what I want to do in the future and prepare for what is to be demanded of me.
In the future, using my abilities and skills, I hope to find a job that relates with my talents and interest. Well goes an English proverb “one is never too old to learn.”- in every stage of my life, I will never stop learning and nourish with every tiny bits of knowledge I receive.
I will stay positive and be ready for what will be confronted to me. “If you want to learn how to swim, you must drown first.” Learning from our mistakes is the best way to improve, to make yourself a better human being.
